President Abbas awards Japanese ambassador with Star of Friendship medal

RAMALLAH, November 15, 2024 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, has awarded the Japanese Ambassador to Palestine, Yoichi Nakashima, the Star of Friendship medal in recognition of his distinguished efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Palestine and Japan.

The award ceremony took place on Friday evening at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, during a farewell meeting with Ambassador Nakashima, who was concluding his diplomatic mission in the State of Palestine.

In his remarks, President Abbas expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Nakashima's pivotal role in enhancing bilateral relations, highlighting the Ambassador's significant contributions to supporting the Palestinian people and advocating for their just cause in their pursuit of freedom and independence.

The meeting was attended by official spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, and the President's Diplomatic Advisor, Majdi al-Khaldi.
