CAIRO, May 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Egypt on Tuesday condemned what it described as a provocative incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israel's far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, accompanied by a large group of extremist colonists.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the dangerous repercussions of such actions, which it said constitute a blatant provocation and a violation of international norms regarding religious sites.

Cairo called on the international community to assume its responsibility in confronting ongoing Israeli violations and reiterated its support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly their right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
