Occupation forces order halt of construction of structures near Tulkarm

TULKARM, May 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces ordered on Monday a halt on the construction of several structures in the village of Shufa, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm, according to local sources.

They said that the occupation forces stormed the village and handed over notices to four villagers, ordering them to stop the construction of three houses and a farm, noting that some of the houses were ready to be inhabited.

They added that the occupation forces took measurements of a villager’s house, noting that his son’s house is at the imminent risk of demolition.

On April 10, the occupation forces demolished a villager’s house without prior warning in the northern area of the village, under the pretext of unlicensed building.

The village of Shufa has become a frequent target of Israeli settler-colonialism to take over the remainder of the village’s land to make room for the expansion of the nearby Avnei Hefetz colony.

As part of the spree to take over the villagers’ lands, the occupation continually threatens to demolish their houses through demolition notices or halt construction under fragile pretexts.
